The CEENQA Workshop was held on 9 June 2026 in Split, Croatia, hosted by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE) as part of CEENQA’s 25th anniversary year. The event brought together representatives of member agencies, partners, and invited speakers to discuss current developments and future priorities in external quality assurance.

The workshop opened with welcome remarks from Vesna Dodiković‑Jurković, CEENQA President, and Danijela Horvatek Tomić, Director of ASHE. The introductory session also featured reflections on CEENQA’s development by two former CEENQA presidents — Cristina Ghițulică and Franci Demšar — who highlighted key milestones and the network’s growing role in the European QA community.

A keynote presentation by Stéphane Lauwick, President of EQAR, addressed future trends in external quality assurance and the evolving expectations for higher education systems in the coming years. This was followed by a contribution from Lana Par, President of ESU, who presented the student perspective on quality, focusing on challenges, expectations, and priorities for the future.

The panel discussion, “CEENQA with internal and external stakeholders’ eyes”, brought together Cristina Ghițulică, Simona Lache, Vesna Dodiković‑Jurković, Jolanta Silka, and Tural Ahmadov. The panelists shared their views on CEENQA’s role, cooperation within the wider QA community, and opportunities for strengthening regional and international collaboration.

In the afternoon, member agencies presented practical examples of digital transformation in external QA, showcasing tools, methodologies, and innovations implemented across the region. The session demonstrated the diversity of approaches and the shared commitment to improving QA processes through digital solutions.

CEENQA extends its sincere thanks to ASHE for hosting the event and to all speakers and participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions.
