TKTA is a public legal entity operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of accreditation of educational institutions and recognition of qualifications. 

TKTA has 42 employees. The overall management and control of the Agency’s activities are carried out by a five-member Management Board. TKTA is managed through an approved structure made up of the following department and units:

1) Quality Assurance Department

  • Accreditation and License Unit
  • Training and Methodology Unit
  • Analytics Unit

2) Legal Department

  • Legal Affairs Unit

3) Recognition of Qualifications Department

  • Recognition of Qualifications Unit
  • Recognition of Informal and Non-Formal Education Unit

The directions of the agency’s activities are as follows:

  • to carry out accreditation of educational institutions
  • to carry out recognition of the higher education qualifications of foreign countries
  • to carry out assessment and recognition of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience obtained through non-formal and informal forms of vocational education
  • to prepare recommendations for the execution of accreditation of educational institutions and organize trainings
  • to organize consulting and methodological support services related – to the establishment and development of internal quality assurance systems in educational institutions
  • to promote the sustainable development of the education system and state standards in this field, the improvement of the reputation of educational institutions and the quality of specialist training
  • to provide its opinion for the purpose of licensing of educational activities
  • to study and apply leading international experience in the relevant field.
