CEENQA participation at Ukrainian Quality Assurance Forum (UQAF)

The National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) organized The Ukrainian Quality Assurance Forum (UQAF), which took place live in Kyiv on the 25th-26th September 2024. The leading topics of this year’s UQAF were the integration of Ukrainian higher education within the EHEA and the role of higher education in the war period as well as in the post-war period.

UQAF has become the largest and most significant conference held in connection with the improvement of higher education in Ukraine. This year, it was attended by more than 800 participants representing more than 200 Ukrainian universities, including the participation of more than 130 rectors and vice-rectors. Students, representatives of the economy and officials, members of the Parliament and the Government actively contributed to the discussions.

dr. sc. Vesna Dodiković-Jurković, president of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), participated in an online panel discussion on “Modern Trends and Challenges in Higher Education in Europe” at the invitation of the organizers.

The panelists exchanged views on the main trends and challenges in higher education in Europe and the ways in which higher education institutions can actively contribute to solving contemporary challenges. They also discussed the challenges facing higher education in Ukraine, the support that Europe systematically provides to the academic community and all stakeholders of higher education, and the possibilities of further improving quality assurance in higher education in Ukraine. At UQAF, in addition to panel discussions, examples of good practice in internal quality assurance processes were presented, and a poster section was held with the presentation of study programs that received the mark of excellence in 2023/24. academic year. We congratulate our colleagues in Ukraine on the successfully held and organized 2024 UQAF and wish them much success in their future work.
