During his visit to Hungary, Professor Dr. Mahmut Özer, Rector of Bülent Ecevit University and Head of the Council of Universities in Turkey, joined HAC President Professor Ervin Balázs on 3 September 2015 to discuss quality assurance in higher education in the two countries. Both the Hungarian and a Turkish quality assurance agency (TEPDAD – Association for Evaluation and Accrecitaion of Medical Education Programs) are members of CEENQA, whose secretariat operates in the HAC offices.

ENQA Report For Ministerial Conference in Yerevan, May 14-15, 2015
ENQA has produced a report about its position on quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area, intended for the the Ministers responsible for higher education at their triennial meeting and the Fourth Bologna Policy Forum in Yerevan on 14-15 May 2015. The full report is available here.
Evalag joins CEENQA as its 28th Member
Following its application for membership to CEENQA in October 2014, CEENQA members voted by the 19 November deadline by circular mail and in accordance with the Network’s statutes to approve the application. CEENQA welcomes its 28th member and looks forward to its active participation in the work ahead.
CEENQA Welcomes its 27th Member
The Independent Quality Assurance Agency for Education (IQAA) of Kazakhstan joined CEENQA as a full member in July 2014. IQAA began operations in 2008. It operates as a non-governmental institution evaluated and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Latvia No Longer a CEENQA Member, 2014
With the dissolution of the Latvian agency HEQEC, its membership in CEENQA is discontinued. CEENQA President Iring Wasser addressed a letter to the country’s ministry, urging the establishment of a national agency in compliance with European Standards (ESG) and one that can join CEENQA in order for the country to continue to take part in the quality assurance dialog.
