Dr. sc. Vesna Dodiković-Jurković, president of the Central and Eastern European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (CEENQA) participated in ARACIS 20th Anniversary International Conference held at the Multicultural Center of Transilvania University of Brașov on 6 – 7 October 2025.

ARACIS organized a two-day international conference, marking the 20th anniversary since its establishment and more than three decades of external quality evaluation processes conducted in the Romanian higher education system. The event brought together representatives of Romanian higher education institutions and students, of the competent ministry and the international bodies in charge of the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the European Commission and industry.

Director of ARACIS, dr. sc. Daniela-Cristina Ghițulică, presented the events that historically marked the development of the quality assurance system in Romania and thanked everyone who contributed to it.

Relevant topics that are important for the development of quality assurance in the EHEA, including Romanian higher education, were discussed, such as the development of quality assurance in university alliances, the development of joint curricula, interdisciplinary curricula, demographic challenges, attracting and retaining talent in the country, the creation of future jobs, challenges in the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence, the regulation of various issues in the field of ethics, the application of European policies in the national context, and the further development of legislation while preserving academic integrity and the independence of agencies.

CEENQA congratulates ARACIS on its 20th anniversary and wishes it much success in the coming period.
